1st Annual LLWL Gathering for Fundy St. Lawrence Dawning Waters Region & Region 15

ABOUT THIS EVENT

We are all looking forward to post-pandemic opportunities to be together with family members, friends, and with our congregations for worship! Tatamagouche Centre is pleased to welcome Licensed Lay Worship Leaders returning to the Centre! All LLWLs serving in the Maritimes are invited to join us in September.

The Gathering will enfold two overlapping purposes. While all participants join together for further training, individuals who need to be interviewed (for licensing or license renewal) will meet separately with representatives of their regional licensing committees. Thursday evening will involve introductions and LLWL basics. We expect most individual interviews will occur on Friday, while training takes place in plenary. Saturday’s program will focus primarily on preaching skills. To allow additional flexibility, the Centre offers a 3-day program registration or a 1-day program registration.

The goals of the 1st Annual LLWL Gathering are:

To provide LLWLs with an opportunity to develop a sense of shared community,

To provide LLWLs with an opportunity to explore and increase leadership skills specifically named by program participants,

To engage worship leaders in reflection on the impact of current events(pandemic, BLM, MeToo, colonialism, LGTBQ2SIA+ rights, TRC, climate crisis, etc.)on worship planning, especially on preaching,

To provide the Licensing Committees of FSLDW Region and Region 15 with the opportunity to interview potential LLWLs and those LLWLs who want to renew their license.
